Root 7 was thrilled at the opportunity to be featured on WCAX’s February 24th edition of The :30! We had a great time performing live on the WCAX stage for viewers all across Vermont and neighboring areas. And as a bonus, we got a behind-the-scenes look at the studio! Click here to view the clip on WCAX’s website. Many thanks to Ali Freeman and the WCAX team for inviting us!

Performing for THT’s Preview Party
We headed down to Middlebury this week to serenade the guests attending the Town Hall Theater’s season preview party, which was hosted in the town’s beautiful community house, home to Middlebury Community Music Center. We were asked to perform some a cappella for the party-goers to give them a taste of the United Way’s “United In Harmony” a cappella competition, which will take place on April 9th, 2016. Thank you to Doug Anderson, Town Hall Theater, and MCMC for having us!
Back at Common Ground Center for Snowshoeing
We were nervous about the snow fall for a bit but Mother Nature pulled through and sprinkled some snow through the woods, just in time for this evening’s gig at the Common Ground Center in Starksboro, VT. After a great show at the center for their summer campers, Common Ground invited us back to sing for the first event in their winter snowshoe series. Guests went on a guided snowshoe under tonight’s gorgeously bright moon, then gathered in the lodge for an evening of hot chocolate, tea, snacks, and music. Thanks, Common Ground, for having us back again!
More events to come in the snowshoe series this winter if you’re interested in joining them!
Brunching in Boston!
Root 7 headed down to Boston on Sunday to perform at Lansdowne Pub (right across the street from Fenway!) with Boston-based groups Vinyl Street and The 508’s! Root 7 and Vinyl Street met during workshops at the Boston Sings A Cappella Festival last year and have been talking about doing a show together since then. Thanks to Vinyl Street for making this happen! We had a great time singing for a new audience – a packed house full of friendly faces – and watching the other groups perform, something that we don’t get to do often since we’re usually the ones putting on the show!
We hope we will be able to get Vinyl Street up to Vermont for a show in the future! Thanks again to Vinyl Street for inviting us and Lansdowne Pub for hosting the gig (and for your delicious food…mmm)!
