We had gorgeous weather for a show on the beautiful waterfront in downtown Burlington! It was a lovely night to enjoy Vermont’s summer weather, the Burlington atmosphere, and a fantastic fireworks display at dusk! Thank you so much to all of the folks who organized another great Independence Day celebration, and to all of the folks who stopped by to listen to a song, a set, or stayed for our whole show!
On Saturday night the group headed down Route 7 to Middlebury. The fabulous folks at 51 Main welcomed us back for our second show. The food was positively delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Many thanks to 51 Main for having us again, and to Mark Evancho – father of one of our former members – who ran the sound board to help us sound our absolute best! We were so pleased to hear that the staff recognized very few customers – meaning we drew in a brand new crowd to support a great local business! Thank you to our family, friends, and supporters for coming out to share a great evening of music with us.

Root 7 traveled down to Boston over the weekend and had a tremendously fun time at the BOSS (BOSton Sings) 2016 Conference! The aca-energy was invigorating and inspiring! Three days packed with everything a cappella – competitions, workshops, aca-bombs, awards, and a concert featuring professinonal groups VoicePlay and Cluster. Our heads are so full of new ideas, perspectives, and goals that we are excited to work with over the coming months!
On Saturday we were fortunate to be able to participate in a masterclass – an opportunity for the group to work with a cappella professionals. Many thanks to Bill Hare and Jon Pilat (pictured with us below) who gave us so much great feedback and coaching! We are so excited to be able to put our energy and ideas into action as we prepare for our next performance at 51 Main on May 21st and gear up for our busy summer schedule!
Thank you to all who came out to support VT Dog Rescue’s fundraising event, Cabaret 4 Canines, on Saturday night! We shared the stage with a whole roster of great acts, all there to support the organization’s efforts to find safe and loving homes for very deserving pooches!
